Our first showcase was at the beginning of 2024 at Durango Cantina in West Hollywood and was called January Blues. This event highlighted the importance of mental health and community, especially in the winter months, when a lot of us struggle the most with symptoms of mental illness. However, this show was lighthearted, with a blue theme that pertained to the outfits, the lights, and even the themed beverages attendees could buy! We had over fifty guests and were able to donate $120+ to NAMI LA (the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the Los Angeles branch).
Our second event, Green Goddess, was April 26th at the historic Hotel Cafe in Hollywood. This show highlighted women in music and raised funds for Heal the Bay, an environmental charity positively impacting Los Angeles since 1985. Guests had the option to buy flower crowns and wear their best green outfits. 100+ people attended the show and we were invited back to Hotel Cafe for our next showcase, True Colors. It was a pride-themed event that hosted amazing bands like the Pussyboys and Zoë Kilgren Band. This event hit home for us, as some of our Snazzie team are in the queer community and we know how important it is to have support. We encouraged our audience to show up as their true selves - in their true colors - and they did. We had another awesome show and can't wait to do it again!
